OUTSTANDING Solid Silver WATER JUG Hallmarked Sterling 1925 LARGE ART DECO NR

Birmingham - STUNNING - 8 troy oz. - LARGE ART DECO JUG

This is a really outstanding VINTAGE LARGE solid sterling silver water or wine jug that was made in Birmingham, England in 1925 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, Samuel Walton Smith & Company at their Cambridge Street workshops. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality jug is in superb condition. This wonderful lidded jug is in a stunning and very stylish ART DECO globular shape with a reeded handle and sits on its round base. The jug measures about 4" in diameter,5 1/4" from lip to handle and stands4 1/2" tall. It is VERY substantial - itweighs230.9 grams - almost7 1/2troy oz. Its capacity is a full 1 imperial pint. It is NOT engraved.

The jug is in superb condition with just the usual light surface scratching and NO splits or repairs and with NOdents and only a few dings - SUPERB.The handle is still firm. It is hallmarked withSWS&Co, anchor, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),Ashowing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1925. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. An outstanding and very rare VINTAGE LARGE water jug in lovely condition after almost90 years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and .
