This is a vintage Marzi Remi German pottery Humidor jar. The mark on the underside was used by the manufacturer from 1879-1964. This jar was purchased by my father in the 1960's, but I do not know how old it truly is.The raised design around the sides is of a Valkyrie from Norse Mythology and dragons. It is in very good condition without chips or cracks. The inside of the lid is hollow with a circle opening that I believe was used for charcoal moisture inserts. The jar is beautifully glazed in cobalt blue and tan.The marks on the underside can be seen in the picture.It measures approximately 7 3/4" tall and 5" in diameter and weighs almost 3 pounds.
