Old Original 10 Piece Candy Or General Store Soda Fountain Stacking Dish For Sale
This was found in an unpaid and abandoned storage unit with a bunch of
old antique advertising items. We showed
this to a local antique glass dealer who is now retired and sheinformed us that
this is quite rare because of so many sections and most importantly, the
section with the three dividers. She said she has
owned several of these Indiana glass stacking jars over the years but only 4 or
so tall and never with one of the pieces being divided into three
compartments. (photo with the red
arrows) She also told us
that these have been reproduced but you can tell this one is old by the
"oily yellowish" color to the glass.
The new ones are much clearer and or colored glass. Again, she said this was an old set from the
1920s and not a reproduction.
no chips or breaks to the glass and the taller base is there with the foot
which has not been reproduced. If you have a candy store or a general store collection
or display, this willfit very well on the counter or bar. All the pieces are pretty heavy so if the
cost of shipping seems high, that is why.
But if we have figured the cost incorrectly, we will refund any
overcharge. We don't make money on shipping
and we don't charge for packing supplies.
Pleaseread the below:
We own several large
500 plus storage locker facilities and on occasion people don't pay the
rent. On the popular reality TV show
they claim to sale off units without looking at the contents first. If you believe that, I have a nice time share
I want to sell you on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border with a beautiful view
every night of a gorgeous fireworks display.
It is just down the road from the Catholic and Methodist churches and
across from the Jewish Synagogue. Have you
ever wondered why there are a large group of people standing around but nobody
offers except the same half dozen or so that you saw in the last episode? Unlike the TV show, we examine all contents
and if we think the items will do better on or at a local estate sale
that is our procedure and that of absolutely everybody I know in the same
business. If the contents are junk or
low end, then we sale units sometimes combined with others as a way of
simply avoiding taking things to the dump and having to pay to do so.
We use the “Private”
option on all of our listing as we don’t see the need for others to see who
offers and who the winners are. Yes, codes the buyer's name but by checking
responses, it is easy to see who the winner is if not a private sale. It is nobody’s business and some winners
don’t like other’s seeing what they purchase.
So we respect that and use the "Private" feature.
the above stated, we are knowledgeable on some things from previous sales and
observations of similar items but we are not experts. Nothing is to be implied or taken further
than what we have described. Do not
mince our words or statements and change them to your interpretations. If an item is old and we know that to be
true, we will state that. If we didn't assign an age, not being old is no
reason to return as not all things sold on are antique or old. If an item is damaged (although we try not to
list such) we will also clarify that. We
do not give refunds because the item is different than what you thought it
would be or hoped it to be. Please be
cognizant that if you are the winning buyer, you took it away from somebody
else and all sales are as is, as

We just measured this again as several people have asked and it is about half way between 25 and 26 inches, closer to 26.
