Old Photo Postcard Rppc, train Wreck, pacific Railway And Navigation, timber, oregon For Sale
Our reserve is the opening offer. We will be listing another Tillamook RPPC as well as others of the area including Barview and Bayocean, two Coastal Ghost Towns. We will be listing a total of 4 Railroad related RPPCs as well as other interesting images.
This is another interesting antique Real Photo Postcard. The writer of the postcard notes that "this is a ... of the P.R & N. where I am working". He thankfully identified the wreck to be a Pacific Railway Navigation train. He mailed the postcard from Timber, Oregon in which is northwest of Portland, halfway to the coast. A number or workers and one or two officials pose on the wreck for a photo. The photo is black and white with a brownish tone and has very good contrast. It was mailed in 1914. Please notice the back of the postcard has paper and glue residue. This was with the group of RPPCs we are currently listing. If you turn the postcard to catch glare, you see some silvery sheen from the old photo printing process. Also with glare, you notice a light and short vertical crease at the top center edge of the postcard. This ends at under about 1/2 inch and follows as a light bend and continuing through the middle of the postcard where it is barely visible with glare. It ends at the bottom middle edge as a barely more pronounced bend. This light bend causes the postcard to not slit flat. It is not bad at all, but we prefer to overstate rather than omit. The corner tips are bumped, the lower left corner tip area having a very light bend. There is a super slight bump or slightly skinned area at the left edge, just below the upper left corner. As there is glue and paper residue on the back side, this postcard spent part of its life in an album. The postcard is 5 3.8 by 3 3/8 inches. What an interesting photo of a P. R & N. train wreck! Please email questions and we welcome info.
