Presenting one gorgeousgreen Old Town Canoe 16 foot, guide model, 170681 serial number from 1961. It looks like a piece of furniture. I have been honored to restore Old Town Wood/Canvas canoes for over 42 years. This is one of the finest I have completed. I do these canoes with the best marine enamel for the canvas. I use original filler for the canvas purchased from Old Town Maine, Johnson Motors. This is the company that supplies parts and materials for Old Town Canoes. I use the original brass tacks, diamond head bolts with the traditional crimping method. This one had no ribs to replace. She has the original Old Town decal and I have added the precious brassplaquefrom the factory. I took every care to make sure that this canoe was restored the right way. Four coats of spar varnish, 3 coats of marine enamel with careful light sanding and 000 steel wool until smooth like a baby\'s butt. It takes longer and is more painstaking but the pride of ownership is knowing that it has been done right and professionally. This is a way for me to honor the original craftsmen a the factory in Old Town, Maine. I completed the restoration in 2010 but am having a hard time letting it go.One grows attached to these beauties when so many hours of sweat, work and loving care goes into them. Now is the time to sell because I have my eye on another orphan beauty which needs high quality TLC.
