Over the past few decades,
I have acquired several large hoards of unsearched wheat pennies at
estate
liquidations, sale houses, and garage sales.
Throughout the years, I have gathered well
over
a million unsearched wheat pennies and had them wrapped
up by a coin wrapping machine at a local bank which tightly crimped each roll of
fifty pennies on both ends. In a small sampling of several dozen rolls I
found dates ranging from 1909-1958 and from
all three mints,
Philadelphia
(P), Denver, (D), and San Francisco (S).
The majority of the pennies dated
prior to
World War II. Also, the pennies ranged in grade from
average circulated to
fully uncirculated. There was even a
1909-S V.D.B. in
circulated condition, again proving that my rolls are
truly unsearched. This
may not necessarily mean that every roll will contain a key date or even a
mixture similar to the one above, but merely proves that my rolls are
truly
unsearched.
