Old Vintage Indian Police Badge Cherokee O.t. W. "t" Bar Pin For Sale
THIS BADGES IS OBSOLETE AND NOT USED BY ANY CURRENT LAW-ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
Here is a badge I have always been curious about. I have had it a few years and purchased it here on . I speciallize in Colorado badges however this one looked ok with the construction style and pin. It has a "T" bar catch typical of pre-1900 badges. The body was made of two pieces that were soldiered together. I believe the base metal was copper and appears to have been silver plated after the badgeswas put together. The badge had vent holes installed for the soldering process as shown. Then the title was hand engraved on the banners of the badge. It is not cast like the lagenbacker fake badges. It is hallow. The pin looks just whatI would expect of a late 19th Centurty Police badge. A similar if not identical badge is pictured in R.L. Wilson's The Peacemakers: Arms and Adventure in the American West. Badges measures 3 inches tall. Since I cannot be difinitive in the history of this badge as I have not researched it, I offer this gurantee: If at any time you have a problem with this badge return it for a full refund. I am collector first off and a seller second. I have shown this badges at shows and everyone who has looked at it thought is to be good. Besides the one in R.L. Wilson's book, this is the only other one I have seen. It looks okay to me. Thats all I know about it. Thanks for looking! If anyone has any information about the badge feel free to e-mail me.
