Here is a ANTIQUE NAVAJO YEI RUG FROM ABOUT 1925 (1920-1930), HAND WOVEN WITH RESERVATION HAND SPUN, CARDED AND DYED WOOLS. This blanket is hand woven from hand spun and hand carded beautiful Navajo Reservation Sheep and Germantown Wools - the shades of black/dark grey, grey, brown, beige and white, are made from hand spun and carded natural Sheep Wools. The red, blue and orange wools are hand dyed wools with Aniline Dyes (obtained form the Trading Posts of the time). There are also some Germantown Wools incorporated into thee waving (i.e. green). Note the Lazy Lines within the white/cream field, trademarks of antique Navajo Weavings.

The size of this textile is approximately 49\" X 34\",with a hand spunwool warp of about 10, and a hand spun Wool Weft of about 34-40 - weft varies due to hand spun and carded wools (a well woven and very durable weave).Abeautifully designed and well constructed piece of NativeAmerica!CONDITION - Excellent For Age/Antique Weaving, used worn condition (Please see all pics!): The wools within this rug are in great condition (still have plenty of luster and sheen), NO notable Stains, NO notable Fading, NO Holes, NO Bleeding of colors, NO Fraying - Excellent Condition for Age! The End Selvage Cords are 95% present (wear at corners), a braid of three, 2-ply white wool yarns. The Side Selvage Cords are intact and 90% present/intact, with a few brief breaks and minor fraying, a twist of two, 2-ply white beige wool yarns. The corners are in good condition, with some fraying and the 4 corner ties are gone to to time/use.

THIS IS A CLASSIC and EARLY NAVAJO ANTIQUE YEI WEAVING WHICH DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY AS IS!
