Old Vintage American Violin /fiddle 1937 Made By John H Soper. :
Here is a beautiful old American violin/ fiddle made in 1937. Made by John H Soper in Washington State in the year 1937. The maker wrote his name, the state and the date inside the violin, and it is clearly visible through the f hole .
Made of a beautiful medium Grain spruce top, and well flamed maple sides and back. Also flamed maple scroll. This violin is quite crudely made by today's standards, however it does possess a large and projecting tone, great for country fiddling. Quite beautiful wood selection throughout, and also a very nice and unique purfling, quite a bit wider than most, and not being made of the standard ebony for purfling. Violin has several closed and cleated cracks on the top. They are all solid however they are visible in the pictures. This is not a violin for classical music but rather for a good country barn dance and for that it is a beautifully made instrument and piece of history. Great for any fiddler or collector of old violins. Will come set up with new steel strings ready to tune up and play. Sold with to the highest buyer. Violin is sold as is and no return. Please look at the clear pictures we posted and the video that is to come. Good luck!
