In Bologna, Italy there is currently an exhibition at the Industrial Heritage Museum concerning the manufacturer of this pedal car: "Giordani: toy making. Cars, Strollers, and Bicycles for Children, 1915-1961"
The Giordani familyfrom 1875 to 1984specialized intoys and toy carriages.Its fame still survives, so much so that, Giordani's toys are particularly longed-for in collections and in the modern antiques market.
The years1915 - 1961when the company manufactured in Bologna (before the move toCasalecchio di Reno) were the pioneering times of toy production and whenGiordanibecame well-known in Italy and then to the international arena.
This then is an extremely rare, authentic Giordani Scuderia Ferrari. Also known as the 'Indianapolis'. Manufactured in 1955 in Bologna, Italy. It resembles the race cars driven by Ascari, Fangio, and others.
All metal body constructionwith rubber tires,it came from an internationally known collection and was restored by another well known local collector for me in the late 1980's and has resided in my office ever since. There are two wheel knock offs missing and I will attempt to locate those. A fine addition to any Ferrari or car/racing enthusiast's collection.
