WHAT:Original Sketch Art

This was done in PENCIL,then INKED and then COLORED, allby J. SCOTT CAMPBELL... he even did the lettering of the Spider-Man name logo too! It's a sketch of The Amazing and Spectacular SPIDER-MAN from Marvel Comics.J. Scott Campbelldrew this (along with drawing an Abbey Chase and a Captain America)at the HERO Initiative booth in San Diego, done on comic book art board, sized the same dimensions of a comic book backing board. After J. Scott Campbell completed the drawings, the HERO Initiative did a live sale at their booth, to raise funds, selling each one to the highest donating buyer.
As many people know, most J. Scott Campbell convention sketch opportunities are far and few between, and it's a tough process. At his last appearance, people had to wait in a line before he showed up; then put their name on a list with their request; then only 3-5 sketches were done per day, costing hundreds of dollars. His commission list is an even tougher process, and most of his published artwork is near impossible to find. So, right here, you have an opportunity to get not only a sketch, but one done with color, by J. Scott Campbell of Spider-Man. At the time, I believe he was in the process of being assigned to draw a Spider-Man series (I believe to be written by Jeph Loeb) and had just done a few covers a few years back too, so his rendering of Spider-Man was a fan favorite and very popular.
