Original Infantry/ Navy Officer´s Sword 1770 -1812 Revolutionary War Napoleonic:
An Infantry or Naval officer´s sword or hanger dated between 1770 and 1815. Country of origin unknown.
Brass stirrup guard with leather covered grip ( showing traces of wear and age, small chips). Blade cleaned, polished and shiny again ( no active rust, only minor dark spots) with etching of talisman symbols like sun, moon,stars and kabbalistic symbols. These types of engraving used mainly in the 18th century and disappeared by the beginning 19th century.
Overall: 82 cm, blade: 70 cm, width at ricasso: 3,5 cm.
