Tiffany Quezal Shades Bronze 16" Candlesticks Queen Anne Lace Pattern Beautiful!

These candlesticks consist of tall slender bronze shafts. A cup at the top of the shafts conceals a cylindrical hollow for holding wax candles, and screws secure the glass shades.

Both candlesticks are 16" tall and the base is approx. 7.5" dia. and preserve their original brown patina. The base consists of a bronze round foot with a bronze knuckle that sits on top of the foot, and cylindrical bronze rode or pole. There are a total of 3 working screws for the 2 candlesticks. A fourth screw is present with the head missing. However, the screw is through the housing and will hold a shade securely (this is how my father displayed them for years), general display wear.

The calcite white exterior & gold Aurene Favrile Iridescent interior shades (not reproductions) are in beautiful vintage condition, they are both signed "Quezal" at the fitter rim. General display wear. 2.25" dia at the fitter rim, and stand 5" tall.

In 1898, Louis Comfort Tiffany added a foundry to his decorative-glass business, creating the Tiffany Studios in New York. Tiffany was influenced by the hand-crafting principles of the Arts & Crafts movement and the organic forms of Art Nouveau, while remaining a pragmatic citizen of the industrial age. Thus, Tiffany Studios produced both unique decorative-arts pieces and handmade, albeit mass-produced, items for commercial sale.
