Sports Popple
This was a group of six sports-themed Popples who appeared in only two episodes: \"Decatha-Pop-A-Lon Popples\" (in which all six appeared) and \"Popple Cheer\" (in which all but Cuester appeared). The only previously established character they ever make contact with is Bonnie, in the latter cartoon, where they explain they\'re \"new in the neighbourhood\".
The Sports Popples each specialize in one sport, wears an outfit based on that sport, and folds into an appropriate type of ball. Even their tails are shaped like sports balls:
- Big Kick is a soccer player who turns into a soccerball. Big Kick talks with an English accent.
- Cuester is a pool player who turns into an 8-ball. Cuester talks with a Brooklyn accent.
- Dunker is a long-limbed basketball player who turns into a basketball. Dunker talks with stereotypical African-American accent.
- Net Set is a tennis player who turns into a tennis ball.
- Pitcher is a baseball player who turns into a baseball. Pitcher talks with a Southern accent.
- T.D. (Touchdown) is a player of American football who turns into a football.
This is an original hand-painted animation cel with production notes and pegholes and was used in the actual production of this cartoon. Comes with a lazer copy of the background shown.

Popples was a Saturday morning cartoon, based on the Popples toys, that aired in theUnited States from 1986 to 1987. The Pilot was a live-action Shelley Duvall special, in which they were puppets and marionettes; after this was well-received, it was decided to make a cartoon series with the same characters. The cartoon was produced by DIC Entertainment and LBS Communications in association with The Maltese Companies.
This is an original hand-painted animation cel used in the actual production of this cartoon. Cels (short for celluloids) are the fundamental building blocks behind all animated film entertainment. The fluid motion portrayed in a cartoon is the result of thousands of individual original paintings. Several hundred such cels are required for a single minute of animated film.
Each cel is a complete original, created by a single animation artist. It is an original production cel and/or drawing used in the actual cartoon itself. It as an original production element as opposed to a repainted rendering or reproduction.
In excellent condition with no fading, no discoloring, no wear & tear, and has been properly stored in a smoke free home and from my personal collection.
Comes with a lazer printed animation background seen in the listing picture.
