Here is an original piece of rope the U.S.S Constitution frigate. Nicknamed "Old Ironsides" because bullets could not penetrate her tough oak sides, and was one of the first of the original six frigates that made up the US Navy. A 44-gun frigate built at the Edmond Hartt Shipyard, Boston, MA in 1797. Restored in 1925, the Constitution is now the oldest commissioned vessel in the US Navy. This is an authentic piece of rope form the U.S.S Constitution.
