The gun will wind up but it will either start to fire right away or hold there until you unwind it. I would think the gun should engage by pulling the trigger after the initial windup. No longer does it shoot out fire sparks and that might be a simple flint replacement as the wheel that would rub against the flint does spin at the tip of the barrel. There is a panel over the windup key that removes via 10 bend over tabs so fixing the trigger might be an option. There are a few bends in the gun as well as some paint loss and assorted scratches. The sling still looks good and is secure. The machine gun measures around 25\" long.
