This is an original WW1-era Marine Corps barracks cover in green. It has the standard brown bill and chinstrap, brown buttons and EGA, and green underside on the steeply angled visor. It is made of a finer grade wool than any I have seen or owned, and while set up like an enlisted cover it has officers quality wool. In fact, the buttons are highly domed like officer types, not flat like you usually see, and they have the six pointed stars indicating turn of the century production. The eagle globe and anchor is a standard enlisted type, and when removed shows that it has been in place forever with the slight fading around the globe area on the wool.
The condition is exceptional; this cap was obviously issued and worn but is in great shape. The bill is as tightly sewn as when it left the factory, the bill rim is also tightly sewn. The sweatband looks like it is some type of material-backed stuff, and is in great condition with even wear all around the leading edge. Interior lining on the top is perfect and intact, and the wicker sides are strong and still well shaped. In all, this is an outstanding green USMC cover - good luck! Shipping will be calculated at standard USPS rates with no add-ons, but please wait to be invoiced prior to sending payment.
