Original Watercolor Wwii North Africa Mosque By Us Soldier, Damaged, Ww2, 1940's:
Offered is a damaged watercolor of a mosque in the North African desert painted by a US soldier during the North African Campaign.
This is 20" wide by 16" tall. Painted on heavy paper.
There is a large damp stain on one side. There are small chips missing from the edges and small tears along the edges.
This is signed in white and the signature looks like Gommill or Gonmill.
There is a mat that has been sprayed with gold paint.
We purchased two watercolors at an estate sale over twenty years ago,
and the owner's said the painter was a US soldier in ww2 who served in the North African Campaign which was 1940-1943.
