Orvis "seven/four" Bamboo Fly Rod:
One of the most favored tapers to come out of the Orvis shop, this Seven/Four is in superb, little used, condition. 7' in length, three piece rod with two tips (3/2), it weighs in at 2 3/4 oz. Marked "HFG (4)," I think it casts best with that line (WF4). It has the much desired cork reel seat with dual sliding bands and comes with its original bag and properly labeled tube. Full length, no sets, totally original, it has typically tight-fitting Orvis ferrules that issue a resounding "pop" when separated. Matching serial numbers on all pieces and the tube label indicate a production date of February, 1975. With the exception of very minor soiling on the grip, there is little indication of use. The original owner's name is neatly inscribed on the butt section by the Orvis shop in classic black Orvis cursive. If this is an issue for you, Orvis or any competent rod maker can remove it. You're going to like this one!
