Our Lady of the Sharp Gate is popular representation of Madonna in polish folk art.

Anna Padol has carved for thirty years. She has participated in many competitions and exhibitions of folk art in Poland and abroad. Among the most popular forms we can distinguish sculptures on religious themes (Adam and Eve, Mother of God, the statue of Christ the Man of Sorrows or saints). The artist carves in linden wood, and finished the work covered with acrylic paints. She comes from Pashyn (the same village as Mr Kozuch - near New Sacz, south part of Poland). Her works belong to classic polish folk art.
