Oustanding Early Wide-hip Kathe Kruse Boy Doll - Germany Circa 1915:
Type 1 model Kathe Kruse toddler doll, 17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted features, brown painted hair, beautifully painted blue/grey eyes with spiral threading and darker outer iris rims, black upper eyeliner, brown eye shadow, closed mouth with pouting/pensive expression, plump cheeks with painted blush.
Muslin body with stitch-jointed shoulders disc-jointed plump legs, separately sewn thumbs. Original antique Dutch costume consisting of muslin undergarments, brown flannel pants and cap, blue cotton shirt, Handknit scarf and socks, and handcarved wooden shoes.
Considering that this doll -circa 1915- is approximately 100 years old, it is in remarkable condition. There is some wear and patching on the hands and feet but it just adds to his rustic charm. Marks: Kathe Kruse 2539 (left foot). This is a wonderfully endearing and beautifully crafted doll from the Golden Age of the famous Kathe Kruse company in Germany. You will not bedisappointed!
