Outstanding Ansonia Royal Bonn China Mantle Clock Labretaqne For Sale
I am offering for a sale this beautiful Ansonia mantle clock with a Royal Bonn [Germany] china case in the rare LaBretaqne pattern, 8 day time and strike, it has a nice clean porcelain dial with bold numerals and an outside escapement, there is a hand painted scene of 2 dutch ladies walking along the shore and a wind mill and sailboat in the background on the front of the case, it stands 15" tall and 13" wide and 5" deep, lots of hand painted gold highlighting and decorating throughout on a dark green background, the bezel and door are gold guilded with a beveled glass, The movement marked Ansonia Clock Co. patented June 14th 1881 New York U.S.A. and the dial is marked as well, I just recently purchased this clock from a private estate in Mass., there is a number 1282 stamped into the china on the lower back corner of the case as well as a round emblem with writting in it and a diamond with a number 9 in it. This is about the nicest china clock I've ever seen, I don't think they get a whole lot better than this. CONDITION: The case is in good clean excellent condition No chip No cracks No repairs, a little crazing on the back, all the paint and decoration is very good not worn, the strike works good and the clock seem to be in all good running condition, it has not been regulated so it may not keep perfect time until it is, comes with the original pendulum and key. NOTICE!!! This clock seems to be very sensitive, it has to set just right to run, I had it running for several hours and than I moved it and it stopped, so I had to put back where it was to run it.
