Outstanding Irnate Victorian Tantalus Carved Walnut W Cut Glass Decanters Etc For Sale
An exceptional, very beautiful and high quality antique victorian tantalus made of carved walnut with beveled glass sides containing a gilded brass rack which holds 4 matching cut glass decanters with their correct matching stoppers as well as having a total of six glasses (five of which are cut glass and match the decanters with the 6th being of the same period and same size but a different pattern). The tantalus cabinet which is quite heavy has deeply beveled glass panes on top, front and both sides with the back pane being flat apparently as made originally. The cabinet is up on four bun type feet and has very high quality brass hardware (I do not have the key for the front lock). The tantalus measures approximately 11 3/4" tall by 14 1/2" wide by 11 1/2" deep and is quite heavy being 14 pounds. Condition - the cabinet is in very nice all original condition with only the loss of two very thin trim pieces which surround the glass panes one on the side and one on the back otherwise its excellent. The glass is in very nice undamaged all original condition but originally there would of apparently been 16 matching glasses as that is what the gilded brass rack has provision for. A wonderful very high quality and great looking victorian tantalus which is completely fresh to the market from an affluent early estate.TERMS & CONDITIONS:
