Pair 2 Antique P&f Corbin Co New Britain Conn Bronze Harvard Lrg Door Hinges 3 For Sale
ANTIQUE PAIR 2 "P.& F. CORBIN CO." NEW BRITAIN CONN. LARGE & DEEPLY-EMBOSSED "HARVARD" ARCHITECTURAL CAST COPPER DOOR HINGES. The "P.& F. Corbin Co." was established in 1849 in New Britain Conn. by Philip & Frank Corbin who began by manufacturing ox balls hardware for steer horns, they eventually in the later half of the 19th century produced coffin trimmings, coat & hat hooks, door & cabinet hardware, locks, window sash fasteners, and door knobs. The company merged with other like companies and became part of 'The American Hardware Corp." in the early 1900s. These 2 matching hinges are thick and are embossed with beautiful block graphic lettering, each has a ball finial hinge, each hinge has 5 mounting holes, each hinge side-that is each flap is 5" tall which may correspond to the number "5" embossed on each hinge flap. I believe that these 2 hinges areBRONZE although it is possible that they are BRONZE copper-plated steel . They are large door hinges and in all original condition with no repairs, they each measures approx. in an opened position: 6.5" high measured from top of ball finial to opposite end of ball finial x 5 1/8" wide. Each hinge is deeply embossed with raised relief of brand of hinge and name & place of company & reads: P. & F. CORBIN NEW BRITAIN 5 HARVARD 5 (see close-up pic provided of embossing). The hinges are in all-original condition with nothing replaced and no repairs, no cracks-chips-dents-nothing broken or missing, flat and even, I DID NOT CLEAN ANY PATINA OFF OF THESE OLD HINGES. LOTS AND LOTS OF PATINA. I HAVE 3 SETS OF 2 OF THESE SAME HINGES THAT I WILL BE LISTING AND I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING ON THEM. ALSO I AM LISTING THE RUSSWIN CORBIN DOOR KNOB FROM 1904 THAT CAME WITH THESE HINGES VERY OLD. THEY ARE VERY HEAVY HINGES. Thank you.
As always a low start offer and I will combine shipping
