PAIR VICTORIAN Solid Silver LARGE SWEETMEAT DISHES 1889 Hallmarked Sterling NR
7 troy oz. - Gorgeous Ornate Design- Atkin Brothers
This is a stunning VICTORIAN PAIR of solid sterling silver LARGE sweetmeat dishes or bonbon dishes or bowls that was made in Sheffield, England in 1889 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, Atkin Brothers at their Matilda Street workshops. They have a beautifuldesign withshell designs to the sides- but are not engraved to the centres. Each measures5 1/2" in diameter and stands1 5/8" high. They are VERY substantial - each weighs108.1 grams - a total ofalmost 7troy oz.
They are in verygood condition for their age with just the usual surface scratching but NO repairs - almost NO dings and NO dentsand NO over polishingand NO edge stress cracks- SUPERB. Each beautiful piece is hallmarked with H.A, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), leopard head,O, Victoria duty markshowing that each was hallmarked in London in 1889. They are also hallmarked with 84,St Petersburg town mark and a makers mark showing that they were imported into RussiaI have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. This is a really super PAIR of quality LARGE VICTORIAN pieces with a fantastic design afteralmost 125 years!!! Postage will be 5.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations.
