* “Hand polished” defined: after disassembly and cleaning of pen and the “taping off” of trim and imprints, ‘hand polishing’ is a wet sanding process designed to restore a nearly new finish. Employing multiple progressive grades of micro-mesh abrasives, followed by paste type plastics polishes from the aerospace industry, this process removes the vast majority of surface imperfections and leaves a highly polished surface. The areas that are taped off, \"company name and information\" remain in their used state to preserve their integrity. This is all done by hand to restore the nearest to original finish while preserving as much of the original manufacturing material as possible. All metal is hand polished with Simichrome Metal Polish to restore a like new shine. These are standard practices of the finest quality restorations. the final step is a polish with museum restoration wax.
