Pre Wwi German 98/05 Mauser Butcher Bayo-v.c. Schilling 1910 For Sale
Very good condition original pre WWI Imperial German 98/05 Mauser
butcher bayonet that is clearly manufacturer marked V.C. SCHILLING SUHL on the
blade and dated 1910 on the spine. This classic piece has all early
construction features, including high ears and made without a flash guard. Blade
has original bright metal finish with some scattered gray. Remaining metal
finish is brown with bright and gray on the guard. Wood grips have original
finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks, lock button
functions fine. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has steel
throat and tip. Leather body is soft and supple with good form and shows some
normal wear. Stitching and staples are nice and tight. Very hard to find these
early pre WWI dated 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonets, especially complete with
original leather scabbard. Will make a fine addition to your collection.
