Presidential Campaign Poster Art "william Henry Harrison" Whig Candidate 1840:
POLITICAL POSTER ART: "WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON" 1840
Posters have been used in American political campaigns, since, at least, 1828. Despite this elegant pose, William Henry Harrison, ran as a common man, with a log cabin and hard cider being his campaign symbols. On the reverse (picture 2) is a brief description of the 1840 election.
Posters were a common, and effective way of advertising political campaigns, events, products, and shows They were often designed by noted artists--a good way of putting food on the table, and paying the rent. Originals are usually very large, sell for many thousands of dollars, and can sometimes be found at sale, or in specialty shops. They are a recognized art genre.
Here, and with othersthat are listed, you have a chance to own replicas of this remarkable art. These are sourced (carefully removed) from a book (not print-on-demand, or printed on an inkjet printer), which is a good example of recycling. Consider one or more of these for school reports, room decoration, office walls, or as a gift for a history or political science student.
The book print is in excellent condition, and is printed on qualitymatte finishpaper. The page measures approximately 10" x 14", nd will look excellent framed. Included will be a copy of the title page.
