PREWAR LIONEL LINES 261 STEAM LOCOMOTIVE & TENDER

LOT DESCRIPTION: As the title says this lot consists of a Prewar Lionel 261, 2-4-2, Steam Locomotive with l tender that was made in 1931. Locomotive has a operating headlight. Locomotive and tender are all original Lionel as is all the paint with no paint touchups

DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION: The locomotive and tender are both in great shape. The loco die cast base is fine no breaks, cracks or signs of swelling. No rust or missing parts, great color, numbers nice and clear, wheels, drive rods all fine. The tender too looks fine, no rust or dents, trucks in fine shape. Typical minor playwear paint chips and rubs on both loco and tender but no real issues with this set and IMHO I would rate as in C-7, excellent condition but look at the pictures and you be the judge.

WORKING CONDITION: I have cleaned lubed and tested the locomotive and it runs fine. Note, the 261 did not come with a reversing unit, it was wired by Lionel to run only in the forward direction
