Designed for use by surgeons and students of surgery, the book provides a complete and comprehensive study of the various treatment and surgical procedures used during the Civil War. It provides for the diagnosis, prophylaxis, and therapeutical indication.
The book serves as an extensive and comprehensive cyclopedia which is a rich and wonderful compilation of the most approved treatments and surgical procedures. In the back is also has reference materials related to various drugs and formulas for the treatment of medical maladies. It is fully indexed and also has a special, multi-page section of other medical publications (see last photos for two photos of this). A wonderful, comprehensive book of surgical practice and techniques.
THIS BOOK IS IN NEAR FINE CONDITION
This scarce, antiquarian, medical book is in excellent condition. It is clean, attractive and solidly bound.The book is handsomely bound in brown-colored, genuine-leather covers with gold lettering on a black background on the spine and six raised bars on the spine. The exteriors are clean and solid. The leather is not brittle and remains in excellent condition. The interior is clean and the pages are in great overall condition.There isn’t a mark in the book. There is an antique pasteboard on the front, inside cover. The book is solidly bound throughout with no looseness or lean and with all binding solid. The book is loaded with 193 wood-engraved illustrations. This is a wonderful, important Civil War era book on the principles and practice of surgery. As always, feel free to ask questions.
