Rome : Corbelletti, 1648. 16mo., 14 cm., COMPLETE. [7] 642 [45]. Early vellum. Provenance: Lord Milford, early stamp to blank and Sir Erasmus Philipps, 3rd Baronet (c 1623 - 1697), English politician who sat in the House of Commons in 1654 and 1659, presumed signature to upper margin of blank. The most famous work of Famiano Strada's was his De Bello Belgico decades duae, 1555-1590 ( Dutch : The war in the Low Countries), written with the help of Alexander Farnese (1545-1592), around 1602 . It was published first published in 1632 and translated into Dutch in 1646 . The single-page plates bear portraits of the protagonists
