BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN / EDWARDIAN POINT DE GAZE LACE SLEEVES Description:
A wonderful pair of antique lace sleeves - likely from a Victorian or Edwardian wedding dress or tea dress. The lace is Point De Gaze, and features a very fine floral motif on an extremely fine mesh, with some of the larger flowers having raised petals. The flowers are filled with decorative stitches, which alternates with mesh-like stitches. Accenting the floral motifs are many tiny dots sprinkled throughout covered in buttonhole stitches. The motifs are outlined with bunches of fine threads attached with widely spaced buttonhole stitches to keep it in place. The mesh is extremeley fine, formed of a single thread. The edge of the sleeves features a scalloped edge formed from the floral elements. They are a very fine example of Point De Gaze lace, with high detail and all the typical elements found in this type of lace.Measurements: 13 1/2" long on the inside underarm seam19" long on the outside (elbow)19" in circumference around the top edge of the sleeve11 1/2" in circumference around the cuff of the sleeve Condition: Good to fair condition.These are being sold as found - there are some holes in the mesh, particularly under the armpits (pictured). They need repair in these spots prior to use.

Insurance costs depend solely on the final value of the item, approx. $1.50-$2.00 for each $100. Please figure your shipping costs prior to offerding, and if you have a problem doing so with 's program, e-mail for approximate shipping rates, since they vary depending on where you are located. For those of you in Brazil, Spain, Russia & China- we're having problems with mail in your country - it's taking longer than expected, and often times the package gets stuck in customs or customs does not repack the item properly and the item is lost. Know that if you live in one of these countries - I WILL SHIP ONLY PRIORITY WITH TRACKING AND INSURANCE IF THE ITEM IS VALUED OVER $100 - AT YOUR COST. Expect the higher rate.
