Pair Antique 1800's Olive Green Whale Oil Lamp Fonts Turned Blown Glass Bim Base:
Wonderful pair of 19th Century olive green glass whale oil lamp fonts (bases) with original brass collars. Blown and turned in a mold, smoothed pontil. Nice straw marks and lots of seeds. I purchased these separately over the last 10 years, both in Massachusetts, but at completely different locations and years apart; one in Northbridge, and one in Wareham (Cape Cod). Interestingly, they were both made from the exact same mold. Though both are olive green glass, the hues are clearly different, with one being more olive weighing 10 oz. , and the other having amber tints and weighing 11 oz. They are blown in a mold and turned (no seam mark), and the pontil has been smoothed. Including their original brass collars, they are approximately 5.5" tall. There are no burners or chimneys. They're in great condition for their age (late 1850's to 1890's) with nice glossy surfaces, minor surface wear, no chips or cracks. These are being offered primarily for the fonts themselves. One collar is complete while the one on the R in the main pic is only partial with only a thread or two remaining. Thread ID is 0.65-0.68". Please see photos and message me with any questions.
