Pair of matching antique 1912 Birmingham hallmarked Thomas Edward Aitkin sterling silver octagonally shaped double handle serving compotes or bowls. The set is solid sterling silver and not weighted or reinforced with other materials. Exceptional style. Although dated 1912 they have a very Art Deco look to them. Each measures 8\" wide(tip of handle to tip of handle) x 4 3/8\" height. The actual bowl is 5 1/2\" diameter by approx. 2\" deep. The base is 2 7/8\" diameter. Combined weight of the pair is 15.2 troy ounces(475 grams). The serving compotes are in very nice condition with only 1 tiny pin head size ding in the bottom of one of the bowls.
