SMALL FIGURAL SHOE SHAPED BOTTLE WITH CORK AND ORIGINAL LABEL IDENTIFYING \"TRIPLE EXTRACT WHITE ROSE\" WITH WHAT IS LIKELY THE ORIGINAL CORK. THE BOTTLE MAKER IS IDENTIFIED AS \"McC & CO\" WHICH WAS THE WILLIAM MCCULLY GLASS WORKS IN PITTSBURGH. BOTTLE IS ABOUT 3.75 INCHES LONG AND STANDS ABOUT AN INCH TALL
William McCully Glass Works was located at 18& 20 Wood Street in Pittsburgh and was a manufacturer of vials, bottles and glass windows. They were in business from 1851 to 1886 in a building previously known as Sligo Works, built in 1824.
The works had been housed in a stone building that McCully rebuild, replacing the stone with brick and thereby constructing the first brick glass-house in Pittsburgh.
I believe that the building still stands. I have no information on the manufacturer of the perfume or \"TRIPLE EXTRACT WHITE ROSE\". The shoe has no chips or damage.
THE LARGER BOTTLE MEASURES ABOUT 4.75\" AND HAS NO CORK. IT HAS THE LETTER \"G\" EMBOSSED ON THE BOTTOM AND HAS A BOW INSTEAD OF LACES. THERE IS A GLASS FILAMENT ON THE SIDE THAT WRAPS TO THE BACK- IT IS NOT A CRACK. SLIGHT ROUGHNESS TO THE BOTTLE OPENING.
I HAVE FOUND THAT QUITE A FEW OF THE OLDER BOTTLES IN THIS COLLECTION I AM SELLINGCAME FROM PITTSBURGH OR, IN BOOKS AND ARTICLES ON THE SUBJECT, WERE SUSPECTED OF COMING FROM PITTSBURGH.
