Austin and Sons, New York, circa 1865 during the transitional period of coin silver
to sterling silver. This pair of
knife rests copy the design of fireplace andirons from the 1860s. These cast rests are 3-1/4 inches long,
2-3/4 wide and 3 inches tall and weigh a combined 8.02 troy ounces. They sit flat and have their original
monogram. No repairs, removals,
buffing, splits, dents or thinness are evident.
