Pair Of Beautiful Roseville Ivory Bookends #2 (from 1932):
Pair of Ivory Bookend Shape #2, each 4 ¾" wide and 4 ¾" tall. Gorgeous white pair.
Ivory 2-4 3/4 Bookend Crystal Ivory 1932-39
Marked on the bottom Roseville 2.
1916, Roseville introduced a systematic method of assigning shape numbers by shape family. Until 1936, the shape numbers were seldom indicated on the actual pottery. Many can be found by studying the shape lists in Bassett's Roseville Prices and the catalog pages in Understanding Roseville Pottery and Jack and Nancy Bomm's Roseville in All Its Splendor.
The piece is marked on the bottom "Roseville U.S.A. 28-4". It has been authenticated by an antiques dealer as real Roseville, not fake.
The pair are in EXCELLENT condition, no scratches, or repairs. There is a 1/16th tiny paint chip on the bottom rim of each bookend (Photo 5). Hard to notice and does not detract from beauty of piece. I have discounted for this imperfection.
Bookends are heavy so shipping is higher.
