Palm Beach Cloth Striped Tie Vguc Euc Vtg Art Deco 1930s 1940s Beau Brummell:
Here is a bold summer staple in a block stripe pattern of yellow, blue, cream & orange in that celebrated vintage material, Palm Beach Cloth. While PBC, made by the Goodall Worsted Co. of Sanford, Maine, is renowned for its summer suits, its neckties are equally prized. Unlined with a four-fold construction, PBC ties resist wrinkles and are easily washed at home; this particular tie can be dated to 1938-1944, when the fabric consisted of cotton warp, mohair weft, and perhaps a bit of rayon thrown in for added softness. Constructed by Beau Brummell of Cincinnati, OH in a 4-fold manner, and sold through Law Incorporated Haberdashery (Law’s) of Hackensack, NJ. Very good to excellent vintage condition, gently cleaned per contemporary Goodall Worsted instructions; faint discoloration near tip and near knotting area on the neckband approx. 15” from tip, instances of where along the edge near the tip and on the edges of the tail.
