Welcome to the Fabric, Lace & Trims Department.
For dressmakers, renovaters, collectors and those with a creative heart!
The amazingly knowledgeable Pat Earnshaw mounted all of her many lace samples onto large sheets of sugar paper, tissue or coloured paper, depending on her lecturing needs.
Each piece, no matter how small, was then either numbered or labelled, to correspond with her notes, which did not come with these samples.
So, here is a large amount of small to tiny lace samples which will be wonderful for a student of lace to try to identify accurately, or for an antique dolls clothes maker, the small sections with such great variety being so useable on tiny projects.
A few pieces are almost certainly Regency, lots are Victorian or Edwardian and a few again are slightly later c1920-30s.
A few labels remain, and you will be fascinated by the machine copies of hand made lace, some machine made and then hand embroidered to finish and confuse everyone!
There are52pieces here and my table measures approx 4 feet square.
I have another lot this week, almost the same but more suitable for dolls houses [or lace students again].
Apologies for the poor photo's on this very dull day.
Please do take a look in my shop if you have the time!
