Pearl Polarflash Clouser Minnows-saltwater Flies:
LOOK AT THIS: "just bought a bunch more clousers from you, having just returned from my local river. Caught 4 or 5 smallmouth in an hour, but felt like I should be getting more considering the conditions. I put on a pearlflash clouser you tied for me, and I landed about 25 more smallmouth, many from the same pool I had just fished with a woolly bugger!! This has happened before with your flies, I have great confidence fishing them, and in the future, it will be the first fly I tie on when fishing for river smallmouth. Just wanted to let you know how much success I had with your top-notch clousers. Thanks. Keith"
UPDATE - 2/15: Just killed the last of the six polarflash clousers I bought from you last year around this time, you aught to add Cape Cod and Rhode Island to the list of places where these flies destroy fish. Nice work. Paul
UPDATE - 11/17: One of my new customer-friends just emailed: "I was in Key West last week and caught my first bonefish on this fly."...I didn't want to tell him it's not"SUPPOSED" to bea bonefish fly! We are now catching Stripers on Lake Texoma and Lake Tawakoni with this fly, as well as Hybrids here on Lake Palestine. My friend Roberto caught a 22lb. Jackfish on this fly on Oct.27 in the surf at Brownsville....One of the deadliest flies on the planet!
This fly continues to be the favorite of my fresh and saltwater friends/customers. These flies WORK everywhere on any and EVERY predatory fish species. I tie these Clouser minnows on #2 Mustad saltwater hooks and it is an all-synthetic pattern for durability and are about 2 1/4" long . I weight the body, usingSpirit River (perfectly machined)heavyeyes and lead wraps under a sparkle braid body and Polarflash wing. This fly was designed16 years ago to match the shad in our TEXAS striper and sand bass lakes.. It is an absolute KILLER on stripers and hybrids on all lakes and it also turns out to be the best surf fly I've used (18 species so far). My customers have fished it VERY successfullyALL OVER THE WORLD. Thanks very much for looking!
