This is what we used before the advent of electricity.
Many familiesthought that electric lights were too dangerous, and clung to theuse of candles.
That happened in our family, but I never saw a lantern like this.. just candles in clips.
Really not that dangerous,
but always a pail and water nearby.
I am old enough to remember candles lit on
my grandparent’s tree who clung to the German tradition of lighted candles.
There is nothing wrong with this holder other than age. In fact, they are in very good shape. They are vintage, not reproductions. I guarantee that.
