Pogo Daily Original Strip By Walt Kelly – Published 6/26/62:
You are offerding on a Walt Kelly original DailyPogo comic strip, published on June 26th, 1962.
"Is it so important for You to see the angels?"
Three of Walt Kelly's main characters, Pogo, Churchy and Beauregard, plus Ol' Mouse, talk about Puce Stamps and Mr. Pig (Nikita Khrushchev of Cold War Russia) and Angels—though eating hot dogs seems to be the favorite activity.
NOTE: This sale includes a block of nine original Puce Stamps (see photos) as drawn by Walt Kelly, to go along with this story! Trade them with your friends! Use them as real postage when sending bills that you can't actually afford to pay. Plus, each and every stamp comes with a guarantee.
The strip itself is hand drawn and inked by Mr. Kelly, featuring Pogo and Ol' Mouse.
The strip is in good shape with an even, minor off-white coloring from age. It has the normal few pin holes, right at the top center border, used by Kelly to hold in place while inking. The border edge has some very light smudges outside the art itself. And the strip has been folded vertically between the two panels, from when Kelly himself sent it to the syndication printers, which is hard to see when framed.
The artwork itself is hand brushed black ink over blue pencil. Signed "Walt Kelly".
