Pogo Daily Original By Walt Kelly – Albert And Beauregard:
You are offerding on a Walt Kelly original DailyPogo comic strip, published on July 1st, 1955.
"How would you like to take lessons in being a DOG?"
Kelly's Beauregard (the dog) asks Albert (the alligator) if he wants to lean to become a dog! Thus starting one of the more famous of Kelly's on-going gags.
This strip is hand drawn and inked by Mr. Kelly and, again, features the major characters Albert and Beauregard, both of whom were featured in the Pogo comic strip throughout the 1950's and 1960's and on into the early 1970's.
The overall paper size is 17 3/4" by 5 3/4" (45.5 cm x 14.5 cm). The strip is in good shape with an even, off-white coloring from age. It has the normal few pin holes around the border, used by Kelly to hold in place while inking. It's also been folded (as was usual) vertically between the two panels, from when Kelly himself sent it to the syndication printers (which is hard to see when framed under glass).
The artwork itself is hand brushed black ink over blue pencil. Signed "Walt Kelly".
