Polaroid 195 Camera Kit - Nice Camera With Many Accessories And Film For Sale
You're offerding on my Polaroid 195 camera kit. Included is the following: Polaroid 195 Camera (serial #ZA404279) w/114mm f/3.8 Tominon lens (serial #108445), front plastic camera cover; Polaroid Filter Kit #595 w/Polaroid 'Cloud' filter #596, Polaroid UV filter #597 and Polaroid lens shade #598, original filter kit case, instructions, box; Polaroid Portrait Attachment #561 w/closeup filters #1, #2 and #3 w/original case, 49mm-52mm adapter ring; 2-cable release adapters with one cable release; 2 boxes expired (10/2005 and 10/2007) Polaroid 690 pack film, unopened and unused. Wow -- where to start? Well, I bought this camera about 15 years ago to use in my business to make instant photos at events. I used it faithfully for about 8 years, then of course digital took over and I haven't used it since. I acquired the accessories over a few years, and really the only things that I really put to use were the UV filter and the lens hood. The film is leftover from when I likely last shot Polaroid. Most everything is in pretty nice shape, but let me talk about each item separately: The camera itself is in good 'user' condition -- everything functions great, shutter speeds all sound fine (though cannot guarantee accuracy), rangefinder is clear, contrasty, smooth and easy, lens is in nice shape, aperture blades are excellent, bellows are light-tight (no pinholes), and this camera is ready to go. Cosmetically, it does show the years of professional use, and I've circled some specific areas of note: i) If you look at photo #9, you'll see that one of the mounts for the rangefinder/viewfinder assembly is glued on with JB Weld. This happened a number of years ago -- why the original connection came apart, I'll never know. So the JB Weld fix was mine, and it's held up just fine ever since. So unless you're concerned with strictly the cosmetics of it, I really wouldn't worry about its strength; ii) Photo #10 shows a crack in that thin plastic cover on the right front of the camera. As you can see, I tried to glue it back together a couple of times, but it never held. Likely you'd have to put something behind the crack and then glue it, then it would probably be fine. Here again, doesn't affect the function of the camera at all; iii) Photo #11 shows a space where a cover should be. I sent it out to my repair guru, Frank Marshman/Camera Wiz, about 10 years ago to have the camera serviced, and when I got it back, this cover was missing. He couldn't track it down in his workshop, and I never really worried about it after that, as this was a camera I used for work. Maybe you could find a replacement out there somewhere, if it was important to you. Accessories-wise, everything is pretty nice. The filters are all good (two of the closeup lenses are still in their sealed packages!), the portrait attachment is fine, the plastic camera cover is nice and intact (no cracks!), cable release is good, and the film is still expired! Only thing that I see that's kinda ugly is the black case for the closeup lenses (see photo #12, left side of the photo, just above the filter on the left). The case still functions fine, but it's lost its shape and the plastic cover is separating from the rest of the case. Finally, the lens hood is slightly out-of-round at the front edge, but it still functions perfectly fine and screws onto the lens with no troubles. So here's your chance to add not only a desirable Polaroid camera to your photographic kit, but also some very worthwhile and hard-to-find accessories, particularly all together like this. Please do email me if you have any questions or need to verify anything.
