This example would be considered a medium sized basket ... relatively few baskets of this size or larger are made. Very finely coiled basket woven of sedge; with pheasant and quail feathers and shell beads at rim. Enrique, a noted Master weaver of Traditional Pomo baskets, is of Mexican heritage, and married into the famous Pomo weaving family of Rose Anderson.
Rose taught Enrique all of the traditional Pomo methods of weaving and locations in the gathering of the materials, and Enrique is today considered one of the finest weavers of Pomo basketry still weaving. His pieces are in museums and private collections across the to Matt Wood's Antique American Indian Art, Inc. (AAIA, Inc.) items.
