Post-wwii Ronson Grecian Touch-tip Black Enamel Table/desk Cigar Works Asis Vtg:
THE CLASSIC GRECO-ROMAN COLUMN
RONSON TOUCH-TIP WAND LIGHTER
GREAT CHROME & GOOD PLUS ENAMEL
MECHANISM SPARKS & LIGHTS WAND WELL, BUT...
see below my 7th image.
Offered is a fine old black & chrome flint-and-fuel Ronson Grecian bar-top cigar lighter.
Approximately 3-5/8 inches tall to the top of the wand, it weighs 17.5 ounces (495 grams).
Inverted cone square-shaft wand.
Whoops! That little space between the wick holder and the shaft went away with a little hand-tightening, after all my pictures!
Got a rare version or color post-war TT Octette, Oval or Grecian in need of a square wand?
Such wand alone, in the superb condition that the chrome on this one is in, could be worth more than many working Touch-Tips.
Newest US patent - 1938.
Mechanism sparks well and lights wand when one firmly depresses the button with the wand, but ...
... the spring-loaded automatic action does not activate because the tip of that little "shaft" (bottom right) that holds the L-shaped lever lost its crimped(?) rim. It also lost its associated lightweight spring.
The earlier mechanism on the right, not being sold here, is somewhat different, but still gives the basic concept.
The small disc is the cap for the fuel tank seen inside the opened body.
The small (about 1/32 sq in) mar towards the top of the column seen in the above picture is "scraped" loss of the enamel. There's also a much smaller & quite minor "dent" to the enameldown lower on the column and a few ribs to the right. I didn't even notice it until right now while writing this.
Quite good, but with a couple noteworthy flaws as well described above.
Just a few short and shallow wand-tip scratches on the chrome top plate.
Other than the flaw pictured (images 2 & 10) & well described above, the enamel is very good and highly lustrous.
Sparks and fires-up well, albeit without the automatic action. Will just need fluid.
Noted flaws notwithstanding, a striking & working Mid-Century Ronson Touch-Tip.
PLEASE NOTE: I often show my vintage lighters andcigar lamps in operation; in other words, lit. I do, however remove all fuel from these wonderful old fire-making devicesbefore shipping ... and you will need fluid (petrol) or butane gas to create fire once again!
If I have only offered the USPS First Class International Mail option, and it is $15 or more for a small item, it will actually be sent as First Class Registered Mail, the most secure option. (Registered is not offered with 's shipping calculator.) I do such for items I expect to bring a price deserving of Delivery Confirmation, while shipping for less than Priority or Express Mail International. If you would prefer it to be shipped Express, also secure, but faster, I'd expectit to be about $10 more. For more fine, antique and vintage lighters for Tobacco pipes, cigars and cigarettes,
