Manufactured from 1968 until 1970

Unique parts on this collector 223 saw vs the 245A

ID tag is green not black

Only the serial number is on the ID tag

Fuel cap location is behind the handle bar

Handle bar has a thin glossy grip (dipped?)

Special clamp to hold the handle bar

Compression release for starting

Special 3 position lever for activating :

1 Compression release and fast idle

2 Run

3 Ignition switch off position.

No toggle switch hole in the cylinder cover

Ignition switch is on the fast idle lever

Choke lever has a metal, right hand bend vs plastic

Rare Flywheel made by ND in Japan

Flywheel has drilled holes in the counterweight for balancing. See photo.

Very rare Coil made by ND. Only seen on the older model saws.

The handle brace has a offset bend only seen on the older saws. See photo

The clutch has 4 shoes vs 3 shoes in newer models.

Nice running great compression saw. The automatic self sharpening chain system has been removed.

The 20 inch bar will fit the 3400 series, 5200 series and many other including some McCulloch and Homelite saws
