• Up for sale is this estate find antique (ca. 1800\'s) medical lancet / fleam with its original case

• It has a spring action to act as a blood letting device

• The original case is in good shape and the clasp closes properly

• I have determined it was manufactured by Wiegand Snowden Philadelphia and it is marked as such - although much of the lettering has been worn off

• I have not attempted to work the device and it appears that the shaft of the blade is either bent or has been repaired

• The blade is also chipped as pictured

• I have tried to show this in the pictures so please inspect them closely

• It\'s an interesting piece but I cannot guarantee it functions as originally intended
