Prescott 3 Vol. Set 1860 Conquest of Mexico Leather Bound Books U of M Library
I have many more antiques and collectibles in my store!
For your consideration is this 3 volume set of antique history books. The books were written by William H. Prescott in 1843, and this version was published by J.B. Lippincott & Co. out of Philadelphia in 1860. The three volume set is from the 3 Vol. series Conquest of Mexico, featuring the life of Cortez. This set was a gift to the University of Minnesota Library, and the books are leatherbound. The books measure 9" tall by 6 1/4" wide by 1 1/2" thick, and they are in good condition for their age. The pages look to be in good condition and well kept without water damage or tears. I can't look through every page, but there doesn't seem to be many tears, and the pictures and maps have the original tissue paper piece to keep better. The bindings seem to hold rather well, but the cover has some wear throughout and a couple pieces of the leather are missing on the end. This complete set would be a great addition to any collector's library. Please see the pictures for more detail.
