am pleased to offer an original hand signed military commission document signed by William Taft (1857 - 1930), the Twenty-seventh President of the United States and the tenth Chief Justice of the United Stated (1921–1930), the only person to have held both offices. The printed commission is a one-page folio parchment boldly signed by Taft as President from Washington, D.C. on December 20, 1910. This document appoints a First Lieutenant in the Medical Corps of the Army of the United States of America. The historic document is co-signed by the Assistant Secretary of War, Jacob M. Dickinson as well as Fredric C Ainsworth the Adjunct General. His signature can be found in the top left corner of the document. The document is well preserved and framed. William Taft's signature is large, clean, and bold with no fading. The same can be said for the signature of Jacob Dickinson .
